Dr. LeCastre

Dr. Michael LeCastre (Lee-Cast-Tree) is from Cleveland, Ohio and is joining the Strongsville podiatry team in 2022. He graduated from Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014 and finished his surgical training at the prestigious University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. During his time at University Hospitals he was awarded for his excellence and was elected Chief Resident. He is a member of the American College of Podiatric Medicine and is a published author in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Additional education includes a Master’s degree specializing in anatomy and physiology from Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a patient you can expect to be greeted with a caring and professional attitude. He will work with you and other team members and medical doctors to create a coordinated plan in your treatment. He enjoys seeing a variety of patients in both the clinical and hospital settings. Areas of focus include treatment of sports injuries, ankle sprains, athlete’s foot, bunions, fungal nails, orthotics, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot wellness checks. He places great emphasis on the preventive aspects of medicine and believes in empowering his patients to achieve greater health. With every visit you can expect a warm bedside manner, compassion and his undivided attention.

Dr. LeCastre’s hobbies include almost every sport. He volunteers his time with the Special Olympics as a basketball referee and he played lacrosse, rugby, and football in high school. He moved to the area from southern California and is so happy to be home.

Dr. Vargo

After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1978, Dr. Vargo earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a Podiatric Surgical Residency at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in association with Huron Road Hospital in 1985. Dr. Vargo is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

He has served as the Chief of the Podiatry Division at Southwest General Health Center and at Parma Community General Hospital. Dr. Vargo previously held appointments as an Assistant Professor at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of General Medicine and the Department of Orthopedics.
